Accessible Publishing in Africa: The Fundamentals

This webinar was designed to support African publishers in pursuing greater publishing expertise, learning how accessible publishing practices mean publications can be read by people with print disabilities, including blindness, low vision, and learning disabilities. Industry-leading experts from the international DAISY Consortium share their insights with publishers from the African continent. These webinars and the associated training are part of an initiative driven by the Africa Publishing Innovation Fund (APIF), a grant-giving program co-led by philanthropic organization Dubai Cares, working with the International Publishers Association (IPA) and the DAISY Consortium.

This webinar was hosted to support African publishers in their pursuit of greater publishing expertise. Learning how the adoption of accessible publishing practices means publications can be read by people with print disabilities, including blindness, low vision and learning disabilities.
This webinar was the first step in a new partnership between the Africa Publishing Innovation Fund (APIF), an initiative led by the International Publishers Association (IPA), and the DAISY Consortium.
This introductory session will be followed later this year by detailed technical training for those that want it, and the possibility of financial support to produce and bring accessible works to market.
